Book review: Insurgent

One book down again! I have just finished reading "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth, the sequel to her previous book "Divergent"

"One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so."

In my opinion, I liked Divergent better than Insurgent because of the love story going on between Tris and Tobias and how their relationship grows. Insurgent on the other hand is more on how they manage to escape from the Erudite soldiers and Dauntless traitors. But I liked how the events turned in the end, and when the secret information was revealed to the public. I am still waiting for the release of the 3rd book which is "Allegiant" coming out this October. For the mean time, I'm now reading my fourth book for this month which is "The cuckoo's calling" by Robert Galbraith a.k.a J.K Rowling - author of Harry Potter. This book is a crime thriller, a completely different genre from the magical Harry Potter series.

I'll be back with another book review soon! TTFN! :D
